PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing a soap in which the molten soap does not stay or remain in a gate of a mold when the packing of the molten soap in the mold is finished; and to provide a method for producing the soap. SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing the soap is equipped with the mold having a cavity with a prescribed shape, a feed passage of the molten soap, communicating with the cavity, and a means for removing the soap remaining in the feed passage when packing the molten soap in the cavity. One terminal of the feed passage is the gate, and a gate pin for blocking the communication between a feed hole and the cavity is arranged so as to be advanced or retreated. The apparatus is constituted so that the soap remaining in the feed passage can be removed by the advancement of the gate pin when packing the molten soap. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
