PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent ultraviolet barrier coating film having an excellent ultraviolet barrier function and transparency wherein the transmissivity of ultraviolet rays having a wavelength of 300 nm is 0-1% and transmissivity of visible light having a wavelength of 550 nm is 90 - 100%. SOLUTION: The transparent ultraviolet barrier coating film contains fine particles of an inorganic oxide being an ultraviolet barrier material and a curable binder. The content of fine particles of the inorganic oxide in the coating film is set to 40-90 wt.%, preferably 40-80 wt.% with respect to the sum amount of the fine particles of the inogranic oxide and the curable binder. As the fine particles of the inorganic oxide, fine particles of titanium dioxide preferably having a mean particle size of 0.001-0.1μm, preferably 0.005-0.05μm are used. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
