摘要 1,179,189. Electric motors. S. URBAN. 7 June, 1967 [10 June, 1966], No. 26204/67. Heading H2A. An electric motor, used, e.g. in a clock drive or magnetic-tape equipment, comprises a rotor which includes a speed regulating mechanical oscillating structure which co-operates with an electrical drive controlled in time with its mechanical oscillations to produce magnetic flux pulses for driving the rotor, such structure including at least one resilient swing arm 7 having a free oscillator end on which the pulses act periodically during the rotor rotation. As shown, the drive comprises stationary control and energizing coils 14, 15 mutually coupled through a two-state circuit element, e.g. a transistor 16 or a relay or a switching diode, and the rotor comprises two such arms 7 mounted via a shaft 5 in two plates 1, 2 and carrying at their free ends U-shaped soft Fe brackets 10 bearing permanent magnets 11 whose vertical axes 18 are radially offset from those of the coils whereby after the rotor has been started by a lever 20 and gearing 22, 23 the magnets follow a circulatory path 19 at a constant speed dependent upon the resonance frequency of the arms 7 which is selected by regulating weights 13. In modifications, the arms oscillate at higher harmonics than the fundamental frequency shown, there are different numbers of arms, the arms are planar and swing parallel with the shaft, the coils and magnets lie radially outside the arms, the magnets are stationary and the coils are secured to the arms, and the magnets are disposed centrally and pole shoes are secured to the arm ends. The motor may also be used as a pulse or frequency generator by the addition of at least one further coil within the path 19.
