<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording and reproducing device in which contents making all media for reproducing/recording as an object can be protected, the increment of a cost and a processing load by it can be suppressed to a negligible extent. <P>SOLUTION: A function by which masking is performed by replacing at least one part of content information such as sub-picture data or the like by invalid data is provided in a DVD drive. Also, the content information is ciphered and it is reciprocated between a PC and the DVD drive, a function by which the ciphered content information is decoded at a receiving side is provided in both of the PC and the DVD drive. Certification is performed between the PC and the DVD drive, and when the certification is passed, the content information is reciprocated between the PC and the DVD drive by ciphering and decoding. When the certification cannot be passed, masking content information read from a disk and content information transfered from the PC written in the disk is performed by the DVD drive. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
