<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device that has a latch mechanism without hindrance to the operability of the electronic device. <P>SOLUTION: A personal computer 1 comprises a display panel 2, a body 3, an engaging member 12 and a locking part 13. The display panel 2 is coupled with a hinge mechanism 4 so as to be turnable between a first state wherein it is laid on the body 3 which a display surface 2a faces and a second state wherein it is laid on the body 3 which a back surface 2b faces. The engaging member 12 projects from the display surface 2a of the display panel 2 in the first state, and projects from the back surface 2b of the display panel 2 in the second state.
