<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable apparatus and a method for protecting test strips from environmentally polluting materials which include light, moisture, oil transferred from hands of users, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises a housing, and the housing includes both a cover and a base formed so as to hold a plurality of the test strips. When the apparatus is used as an apparatus, having a sealing structure substantially preventing the entry of air and moisture, a plurality of the test strips housed in the apparatus are provided.
