<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially orientated polyimide film having excellent mechanical properties and in-plane isotropy and improved dimensional stability. <P>SOLUTION: This polyimide film is obtained by casting, on the surface of a support, an organic solvent solution of a polyamic acid and containing a cyclization catalyst and a dehydrating agent, performing imidation of the polyamic acid to continuously form a gel film having self-supporting property and 5-50 wt.% solid, longitudinally drawing the gel film at a ratio of 1.1-1.9 times and transversely stretching the resultant at a ratio of 0.9-1.3 times based on longitudinal drawing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
