PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having an excellent phosphodiesterase (PDE) IV-inhibiting action. SOLUTION: This compound having the excellent phosphodiesterase (PDE) IV-inhibiting action is (-)-6-[3-(2-indanyloxy)-4-methoxyphenyl]-6-methyl-3, 4, 5, 6-tetrahydro-2H-1, 3-oxazin-2-one or its hydrate or solvate. A medicine composition containing the compound is preferably useful as a PDE IV inhibitor, further as a medicine for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases, especially asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.
