PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure capable of being mass produced at low costs with a simple structure, and to effectively prevent the misregistration of an electrode due to shock. SOLUTION: The secondary battery puts the electrode 2 in an exterior can airtightly sealed. The rechargeable battery is provided with a friction force increasing material 16 which increases surface friction force between the electrode 2 and the exterior can when heated to be a temperature at which battery performance is not lowered, between a front surface of the electrode 2 and an inner surface of the exterior can. The friction force increasing material 16 is heated to the temperature at which the battery performance is not lowered, and adheres the electrode 2 to the inner surface of the exterior can. The manufacturing method of the secondary battery adheres the friction increasing material 16 increasing its adhering force when heated to the temperature at which the battery performance is not lowered, to the front surface of the electrode 2 before putting the electrode 2 in the exterior can. After putting the electrode 2 made by adhering the friction force increasing material 16 in the exterior can, the electrode 2 is bonded to the exterior can by heating. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
