PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder and a method of inkjet recording that can always obtain a high quality output with high reliability by suppressing density variation of an ink in an ink supply passage or a recording head without performing a waste recovery operation. SOLUTION: This inkjet recorder that performs the recording by using a recording head for ejecting ink, comprises a moving means for moving the recording head to scan a recording medium, a measuring means for measuring a time period from completion of the recording operation of the recording head to starting of the previous operation thereof, and a judging means for judging whether or not the time period measured by the measuring means exceeds a predetermined time period.
