PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent collision between an optical disk 2 and an objective lens 9 without fail during loading by using a compact and simple structure in a high-density information recording/reproducing device 1 in which the working distance between the optical disk 2 and the objective lens 9 is small. SOLUTION: On an outer peripheral side beyond the outer diameter D2 of a turntable 6 and on an inner peripheral side within the inner diameter D1 of a turntable insertion opening 8 formed in a cartridge 3, a supporting member 21 (cylindrical part 24) is disposed to be raised during loading and to be lowered during recording/reproduction. Thus, collision with the objective lens 9 is prevented without hindering the rotary-driving of an optical disk 2. Further, there are no constraints on an optical pickup 7 unlike the case of introducing collision prevention measures into the optical pickup 7 or around the same, and miniaturization is achieved. Thus the arrangement is suitable for a high-density information recording/reproducing device which has very small working distance.
