Novel phenethylamine salts of the general formula wherein R is CH 3 CH- or -CH 2 CH 2 -, R<SP>1</SP> is H or CH 3 , A- is an anion of (d,l)-2-oxo-bornane- 10 - sulphonic acid, (d) - 2 - oxo - bornane 10- sulphonic acid, guaiacylacetic acid, salicylic acid, O-acetylsalicylic acid or malic acid, and n is an integer equal to the number of carboxylic or sulphonic acid groups in the acid HA, are prepared by reaction of the appropriate acid and phenethylamine in a solvent. Pharmaceutical compositions having antiinflammatory, virostatic, virolytic and carcinostatic activity comprise, as active ingredient, a a phenethylamine salt of the above general formula, in admixture with a therapeutically acceptable diluent or carrier, and may be administered in the form of powders, creams, aerosols or drops for topical application, tablets or capsules for oral administration, or suppositories or solutions for parenteral administration.</p> |
