PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for optical materials having excellent moisture resistance and high adhesivity, resistant to thermal discoloration and having high usefulness, an optical material produced by curing the composition, a method for producing the same and a liquid crystal display device and LED produced by using the material.

SOLUTION: The composition for optical material contains (A) an organic compound having ≥2 carbon-carbon double bonds reactive with SiH group in one molecule, (B) a compound containing ≥2 SiH groups in one molecule, (C) a hydrosilylation catalyst, (D) a compound containing at least one epoxy group in one molecule and (E) a compound containing at least one carboxy group in one molecule.
