摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the machining efficiency by shortening a moving time from a machining end point to a next machining start point in a laser beam machining using the copying control. <P>SOLUTION: This laser beam machining using the copying control is performed by controlling a gap between a machining nozzle and a work, and moving a machining head. When the machining nozzle reaches a machining end point A of a machining shape S1, the Z-axis is moved at a predetermined speed. After the movement of a predetermined quantity a, the X-and Y-axes are rapidly moved to a machining start point E of a next machining shape S2. The moving direction of the Z-axis is inverted at an intermediate point C between the machining end point A and the machining start point E. (Fig. 2(a)). Alternatively, the movement of the Z-axis between C' and C" is stopped. (Fig. 2(b)). When the gap between the work and the machining nozzle reaches the predetermined value d, the gap control is started.
