<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type vide display device in which a width of scroll light on a display element is adjustable in a construction conducting optical scroll on the display element. <P>SOLUTION: The projection type vide display device produces cyclic deflection of irradiated light by using a scrolling disk 4 with a first transmission part 4A and a second transmission part 4B, separates the deflected light into three primary colors, guides them respectively to three holding type display elements, compounds image light of each color obtained via each holding type display element and projects the compounded image light. The scrolling disk 4 is constructed by overlapping a first rotating disk and a second rotating disk. When the two rotating disks are overlapped to each other in phase, widths of the transmission parts 4A, 4B get wide, and when the two rotating disks are overlapped to each other out of phase, the widths of transmission parts 4A, 4B get narrow. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
