PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charger equipped with a plurality of input terminals used for inputting external power for charging a rechargeable battery, capable of, in performing charging operations, preventing the currents of the inputted power from being outputted to outside from the other unused input terminal for charging, and capable of controlling the input power supply so that optimum charging is performed when inputs are made from the plurality of input terminals. SOLUTION: This charger includes PNP transistors Q1, Q2 are respectively provided between two input terminals of an external power supply adapter terminal 11 and a base terminal 12, and the rechargeable battery E1. A control IC13 turns on the corresponding transistor when an inputted power voltages is detected. The control IC13, upon the detection of both the inputted power voltages, assigns a priority under a prescribed condition and charges the rechargeable battery E1 through the power supply having a higher priority.
