PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent emergency unlocking in a tilting and telescopic steering column locked by a clamping bolt. SOLUTION: A tilting and telescopic steering column is formed by fitting an operating lever 13 in an axially movable state to a clamping bolt 10 piercing a tilting oblong hole 8 formed in an upper clamp 1 and a telescoping oblong hole 9 formed in a distance bracket 3. A tilting locking tooth part 14 is provided at the edge of the tilting oblong hole 8, and a telescoping locking tooth part 15 is provided at the edge of the telescoping oblong hole. A first movable member 18 having a locking tooth part 16 for being engaged with the tilting locking tooth part 14 is fitted around the clamping bolt 10. A second movable member having a locking tooth part 19 for being engaged with the telescoping locking tooth part 15 is used as a bolt head portion 29. The locking tooth part 16 can come in contact with the upper clamp 1 and the locking tooth part 19 can come in contact with the distance bracket 3. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
