PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable transmission smoothing the rotation of two links rotatably supported to each other by pivots while suppressing the increase of width in the rotation axis direction of an input shaft, of a variable speed mechanism composed of a plurality of link units. SOLUTION: This continuously variable transmission for a bicycle is provided with the variable speed mechanism having a plurality of link units for converting the rotation of the input shaft into swinging motion, and a one-way clutch for converting the swinging motion into the rotation of an output shaft. The link units each composed of a plurality of variable speed links 31, 32, 33 are arranged at the input shaft in a line in the rotation axis direction. The pivots 34, 35, parallel with the input shaft, of the link units are provided with needle bearings 40, 41, 63 without retainer, and the variable speed links 31, 32, 33 and variable speed operating links 54 (54a) are supported in a relatively rotatable manner by the needle bearings 40, 41, 63 without retainer.
