PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a human serum albumin (HSA) which is obtained by genetic operations and from which contaminants relating to a producing host and other contaminants are eliminated. SOLUTION: This HSA is obtained by the genetic operations, wherein contaminants of certain kinds in a culture medium and contaminants existing in a HSA-containing fraction including substances which are contaminated or secreted by bacteria (i.e. the producing host), especially, contaminants which are derived from the host and has antigenicity, free contaminants which are detectable by a phenol-sulfuric acid method, and a pyrogen (pyrogenic substance), are enough eliminated therefrom.
