Synthetic anhydrite prodn from fluorspar

Fluorspar and H2SO4 are treated with 1% K2SO4 (referred to anhydrite produced), mixed homogeneously and kneaded, to produce K2SO4 seed crystals, before introducing to reactor. Additive improves the quality of CaSO4 crystals produced, whilst use of small amount prevents certain disadvantages, e.g. efflorescence, swelling or dissolution with rain water.
