The invention relates to novel compounds containing 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole. Said compounds can be used as active components (= functional materials) in a series of different applications that can be attributed in the broadest sense to the electronics industry. The inventive compounds are defined by the formulae (I), (II), (III), (IV), (V), (VI), (VII), (VIII), (IX), (X) and (XI).
