The invention relates to a method for controlling low-temperature drying of moist material, particularly sewage sludge, by using drying air in at least one drying step of cold air operation or recirculating air operation, surrounding air being exclusively used as drying air during cold air operation while a mixture of surrounding air and recirculating air is used as drying air during recirculating air operation. According to the inventive method, the course of the total amount of required energy during cold air operation and recirculating air operation is continuously calculated regarding a theoretical energy expenditure according to the temperature of the surrounding air or recirculating air, the absolute limit of water content of the surrounding air, the total pressure of the surrounding air, the moisture of the moist material, and the quantity of the moist material and is started as a drying program. |
