PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device of a permanent magnet motor which identifies a motor constant in an apparatus for driving the permanent magnet motor without using a position sensor.

SOLUTION: The drive device of the permanent magnet motor includes a motor axis rotational coordinate estimator for estimating an rotational error of a rotary coordinate axis of an inverter and the rotary coordinate axis of the motor from a shaft error by calculating an error between the rotary coordinate axis of the inverter controlled by an inverter control means and the rotary coordinate axis of the motor composed of the coordinates of a rotary coordinate axis of the inverter and a magnetic flux direction by a rotor magnet of the magnet motor and a direction advanced at 90 degrees in a rotating direction from a magnetic flux direction, and has a function of identifying a counterelectromotive force constant of the permanent magnetic motor from the output of the motor axis estimator.
