Unsaturated cpds. containing aliphatic or aromatic groups, substituted by one or more multiple bonds of the type -C triple bond C-, or -N=N- are reacted in water, or mixtures of water with inorganic or organic solvents, at -20 degrees to +100 degrees C, with a mixture of hydroxylamine and hydroxylamino-O-sulphonic acid, pref. at pH 4-14.
