PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality plasma display device by preventing defects such as non-lighting and local degradation of luminance due to the failure of the shape of the phosphor layer. SOLUTION: Before forming a phosphor layer of the rear panel, the organic materials are effectively removed by a solution containing ozone or a solution containing ethylene carbonate. Thereby, the occurrence of the failure of the shape of the phosphor layer due to combustion of the organic materials in baking is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
