PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the pulsation of rotating speed of an output shaft and to prevent the increase of weight and size of a continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: This continuously variable transmission for a bicycle is provided with a speed increasing mechanism M1 for increasing the rotating speed of a pedal type crankshaft 12 to transmit it to an input shaft 15, a variable speed mechanism M3 having a plurality of link units U1-U4 for converting the rotation of the input shaft 15 into swinging motion, and a one-way clutch 36 for converting the swinging motion into the rotation of the output shaft 16. The speed increasing mechanism M1 includes a pair of noncircular gears 26, 27 for putting the input shaft 15 in non-uniform rotary motion with the timing of reducing the pulsation of the rotating speed of the output shaft 16.
