<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device which a user can safely use when detecting the temperature of the device by a temperature sensor to control power supply from a power source. <P>SOLUTION: A history storage part 34 is provided wherein information indicating whether a high-temperature state has been ever detected by a temperature sensor 30 or not is stored. When information indicating that a high-temperature state has been detected is not stored in the history storage part 34, a signal to start power supply from the power source is transmitted to a power supply control part 35 at the time of power on. When information indicating that a high-temperature state has been detected is stored in the history storage part 34, it is discriminated whether a present temperature is higher than a lower limit temperature or not at power on to transmit a signal for controlling power supply from the power source, to the power supply control part 35. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
