PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely decrease the vibration of an optical scanning device excited by a light deflector with a small number of components. SOLUTION: A light box 12 of the optical scanning device 10 is supported on such fixed part 17 as a floor by a side plate 16 which is modelled by a coil spring 14. Such optical components as the light deflector 28 are fixed on the bottom plate 18A of the main body 18 of a light box 12. A cover 20 of the main body 18 of the light box is elastically deformably formed and a weight 38 is fixed on the outer face of the cover 20 on a vertical line passing through the axial center of the light deflector 28. The vibration of the optical scanning device 10 is suppressed by a dynamic vibration absorbing device which is formed by the cover 20 and the weight 38. The cover 20 is used as a spring k of the dynamic vibration absorbing device, thus the number of components is decreased. Further, the weight 38 is provided on the vertical line passing through the axial center of the light deflector 28 is provided and an angular moment generated in the light box 12 is suppressed and the deviation in the scanning position on a photoreceptor 36 is suppressed to the minimum.
