PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily adjust the top and bottom frames and right and left side frames of a screen frame to the respective required lengths matching the size of a building opening when installing in the opening a retractable screen device having a screen winding mechanism. SOLUTION: The top and bottom frames 2 and 3 and the right and left side frames 4 and 5, all cut to the respective lengths, are interconnected end-to-end using corner connecting members 6-9 to form the screen frame 1. One end of the screen 11 is wound around a winding shaft 12 of the side frame 4 and the other end of the screen is connected to a movable rail 13. The winding mechanism 30 which transmits to the winding shaft the biasing force of an adjustable spring 25 for winding the screen is provided on the corner connecting member 6 at the upper end of the side frame 4 in such a manner as to be movable into and out of the winding shaft 12. A stopper mechanism 50 for adjusting the limit to which the screen 11 can be extended by the rotation of the winding shaft 12 is provided on the lower corner connecting member 8 in such a manner as to be movable into and out of the winding shaft 12.
