PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation for skin, having no problem of stability and skin safety, effective for preventing skin erythema, sunburn, melanization, premature aging and the like and also effective for recovering the skin damaged by ultraviolet rays. SOLUTION: This preparation is obtained by including thioredoxin or one or more selected from yeast extracts and yeast culture supernatant and also including one or more ultraviolet ray-screening agents in a substrate for the external preparation.
