PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition comprising, as an effective ingredient, a novel aliphatic, nitrogen-containing, five-membered cyclic compound having an excellent DPPIV inhibiting action. SOLUTION: The pharmaceutical composition comprises:, as an effective ingredient, an aliphatic, nitrogen-containing, five-membered cyclic compound represented by general formula [I'] (wherein A is -CH<SB>2</SB>- or -S-; B is CH or N; R<SP>1</SP>is H, a lower alkyl group or the like; X is a single bond, -CO, -Alk-CO-, -COCH<SB>2</SB>-, -Alk-O-, -O-CH<SB>2</SB>-, -SO<SB>2</SB>-, -S-, -COO-, -CON(R<SP>3</SP>)-, -Alk-CON(R<SP>3</SP>)-, -CON(R<SP>3</SP>)CH<SB>2</SB>-, -NHCH<SB>2</SB>- or the like; R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; Alk is a lower alkylene group; R<SP>2</SP>is (1) an optionally substituted cyclic group or (2) a substituted amino group or the like; and when X is -CO-, B is N); or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof.
