METHOD FOR RECORDING/REPRODUCING DATA TO/FROM OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIA IN REAL TIME, AND METHOD FOR MANAGING FILE BY THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clarify a method for recording/reproducing data to/from optical recording media in real time and a method for managing a file by the method. SOLUTION: A host controls data writing in real time by providing a signal demanding information about defective area information from a device for recording/reproducing data to/from an optical disk prior to providing a write command. Then, the host can create such a write command as to prevent data from being written in a defective area on the basis of the returned defective area information. In another method, the host sometimes first provides the device for recording/reproducing the data to/from the optical disk with the write command and the information about the defective area is returned in response to the write command. Thus, the host creates and provides such a new write command as to prevent the data from being written in the defective area on the basis of the returned defective area information.
