<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, a thumbnail printing method, a thumbnail output method, a thumbnail printing system and a thumbnail output system which can share authentication function with respect to the thumbnails of a stored document, and can print or output the thumbnails of the stored document, without wasting resources. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1, which prints the thumbnails of the stored document according to a request from a user, solves above task, by including: network service 122 which receives a thumbnail print request for the thumbnail of the stored document from a networking device 100 and acquires certification information according to the thumbnail print request; document managing service 123, which generates the certification information according to the thumbnail print request and transmits the information to the network service 122; and a printing service 130, which receives the certification information from the network service 122, acquires and prints the thumbnails of the stored document according to the certification information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
