TITANIUM DIOXIDE POWDER FOR HONEYCOMB EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT CATALYST AND HONEYCOMB EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT CATALYST USING THE TITANIUM DIOXIDE POWDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw material for a honeycomb exhaust gas treatment catalyst comprising titanium dioxide and/or a titanium double oxide and an organic halogen compound decomposition catalyst or a denitration catalyst using the raw material.

SOLUTION: The titanium dioxide powder for honeycomb exhaust gas treatment catalyst comprising titanium dioxide and/or the titanium double oxide exhibits the following properties. (a) A peak strength ratio of (101) face of an anatase type titanium dioxide crystal against a reference sample of the titanium dioxide powder measured by a powder X-ray diffraction method is within a range represented by the following formula: 10.59≤X/Y≤1.20 (1) (Y represents a peak strength (mm) of the (101) face of the anatase type titanium dioxide crystal of the reference sample in which the anatase type titanium dioxide and nickel oxide are crushed and mixed and X represents a peak strength (mm) of the (101) face of the titanium dioxide powder of the sample), (b) a diameter of crystallite of the anatase type crystal (101) face is 8-22 nm and (c) a sulfuric acid radical is 0.3-5.0 wt.%. It is made to the honeycomb exhaust gas treatment catalyst using the titanium dioxide powder.
