<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cleaning circulating water in a gasification melting furnace, which prevents the occurence of scum in a sedimentation device or easily remove scum, and a cleaning apparatus therefor. <P>SOLUTION: The gas generated in the gasification melting furnace for treating waste is guided to a reaction column and acidic water is sprinkled over the gas to transfer dust and heavy metals contained in the gas to acidic water. Thereafter, the acidic water is guided to the sedimentation device from the reaction column not only to sediment and separate the dust and heavy metals contained in the acidic water but also to return the cleaned acidic water to the reaction column. In the actual operation, the cleaned acidic water or supply water is sprinkled over the upper surface of the acidic water in the apparatus from the region above the sedimentation device to suppress the occurence of scum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
