PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal composition with small decline or substantially none of chiral dopant concentration with absorbent treatment, its voltage stabilization rate improving method and a process for purification of the liquid composition. SOLUTION: A nematic liquid crystal composition containing at least one or more non-chiral liquid crystal compound and a chiral dopant with small decline of the chiral dopant concentration by the absorbent treatment is provided, particularly using a nematic liquid crystal composition exhibiting less than 19% decline of the dopant concentration by the treatment.
