PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a biological molecule array substrate and provide a method of producing a biochip, using the array substrate. SOLUTION: The method of producing the array substrate is provided with a step (a), in which a hydrophobic material is coated on a surface of the substrate, thereby forming a hydrophobic film, a step (b) in which the coated hydrophobic film is etched via an etching mask to thereby form a hydrophilic junction, a step (c) in which the residual etching mask is removed, and a step (d) in which the hydrophobic property of the hydrophobic film is reconstructed. The method of producing the biochip is provided with a step, in which surface treatment is carried out for the surface of the hydrophilic junction of the array substrate which is produced by using the method of producing array substrate, and a step in which a solution, containing biological molecules, is applied on the hydrophilic junction.
