PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide coated paper which is used for printing, has excellent smoothness, whiteness, opacity, print gloss and the like, and further has an excellent ink-setting property and an excellent ink-drying property. SOLUTION: This coated paper is prepared by disposing a primer coating layer containing a fine pigment having an average particle diameter of≤0.5μm and heavy calcium carbonate having an average particle diameter of 1.1 to 2.5μm on at least one side of raw paper and then disposing a top coating layer containing heavy calcium carbonate having a specific average particle diameter and a narrow particle distribution on the primer coating layer.
