PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article improving a leakage preventing performance by taking a step of preventing lateral leakage with neither damaging the absorbency nor improving the rigidity of a panty liner in the absorbent article for little body fluid excretion such as the panty liner. SOLUTION: This absorbent article is so formed that parts in the width-directional both side edges of an absorbent body of a surface material layer and regions adjacent to their outsides are continuously thermally embossed or non-continuously but substantially continuously thermally embossed.
