PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biotechnological method for producing biotin having high yield of biotin and being economical consequently. SOLUTION: The invention relates to a DNA fragment including genes bioB, bioF, bioC, bioD and bioA for biotechnological synthesis of the biotin obtained from Enterobacter or genetic variants functionally equal to the genes and mutants. The invention relates to a DNA fragment that these genes are arranged in the same transcriptional direction in the transcription unit. The invention also relates to microorganisms including these DNA fragments and plasmids, and a method for producing the biotin by using these microorganisms. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
