PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for image formation and an electrophotographic photoreceptor which prevent the occurrence of image defects such as void and illegal character by improving transfer property of toner in an image formation system using an intermediate transfer body. SOLUTION: In the image forming method which develops a latent image formed on the electrophotographic receptor into a toner image and is equipped with a transfer means of transferring the toner image to a recording material or an intermediate transfer body, the development and transfer are carried while a surface energy decreasing agent is supplied to the surface of the electrophotographic receptor to suppress variance in contact angle of the electrophotographic photoreceptor at a mean value±5°.
