PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detection accuracy by detecting an insulation property in a battery pack system in a condition close to that of a system operation time. SOLUTION: This battery pack system has: a set battery 2 composed by serially connecting a plurality of battery cells; a motor 11; main switches 1a and 1b installed between the battery pack 2 and the motor 11; a capacitor 8 connected in parallel with the motor 11 on the rear stage side of the main switches 1a and 1b; and a control circuit 14. The control circuit 14 controls the turning on/off of the main switches 1a and 1b. The control circuit 14 evaluates the insulation property relative to a circuit system on the rear stage side of the main switches 1a and 1b based on a potential difference generated by charge stored in the capacitor 8 in switching the the main switches 1a and 1b from on to off.
