摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head which has a good efficiency at the driving time, can achieve stable discharge, is highly reliable in the printing result, varies less in the discharge ink amount for every nozzle, has a good printing quality and can be manufactured easily, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: A first substrate 1 having a plurality of nearly rectangular diaphragms 5 formed, and a second substrate 1 having nearly rectangular discrete electrodes 21 formed in a plurality of formed recesses 9 are stacked, whereby the discrete electrodes 21 and the diaphragms 5 are made to confront via a predetermined gap. A ratio (b-a)/b related to a length (a) of one side of the diaphragm 5 and a length b of one side of the discrete electrode 21 is set to be not smaller than 4% and not larger than 15%. An outline of the diaphragm 5 projected perpendicularly onto the discrete electrode 21 is disposed to be included in an outline of the discrete electrode. An electric field acting between the diaphragm 5 and the discrete electrode 21 is prevented from leaking. A desired electric field acts to the diaphragm at all times when a driving voltage is impressed between the diaphragm 5 and the discrete electrode 21, making it expectable to discharge ink stably.
