Self-tapping screw-fit plug has helical cutting profile with supplementary cutting tip at leading edge

A self-tapping screwed insert plug has a helical outer profile. The initial part of the self-tapping thread bears a supplementary serrated profile which is in line with the following helical self-tapping profile. The supplementary profile is esp. incorporated at the manufacturing stage e.g. by soldering into a pre-formed detent.
