<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light diffusion sheet capable of enhancing heat resistance, thermal dimensional stability, and weatherability while maintaining transparency and less liable to sag, yellowing or the like, even under heat generated by a lamp or ultraviolet ray irradiation, and to provide a backlight unit which reduces unevenness in luminance using the light diffusion sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The light diffusion sheet 1 is provided with a transparent base layer 2 and a light diffusion layer 3 stacked on the front surface of the base layer 2, and the light diffusion layer 3 contains a light diffusion agent 5 in its binder 4. The binder 4 is formed from a polymeric composition containing polyol, a minute inorganic filler, and a light stabilizer (a polymeric composition containing polyol having a light stabilizing group and a minute inorganic filler), and the average particle size of the minute inorganic filler is 5 nm to 50 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
