<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nearly identical chromaticity between a reflecting display and a transmitting display, in a translucent and semi-reflection type color liquid crystal display device, and to form a color filter in which the thickness in the transmitting area is about twice as large as the thickness in the reflecting area, in one process per color. <P>SOLUTION: A metallic film 21 is laminated on a glass substrate 1b and, on top of it, a photosensitive resin film 22 having a light transmissivity is laminated. Through exposure and development, the photosensitive resin film 22 and the metallic film 21 existing in the area to be the transmitting area are selectively removed, in each pixel that is a unit for displaying each color of red, green and blue. As a result, a reflecting layer 2 and an adjusting film 3b are left in the area to be the reflecting area in each pixel. Then, in each pixel, color filters 4a, 4b, 4c are formed across the area to be the transmitting area and the adjusting film 3b. The combined thickness of the reflecting layer 2 and the adjusting film 3b is designed to be approximately a half of the thickness of the color filters 4a, 4b, 4c in the transmitting area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
