摘要	<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data packet transmission method with a high transmission efficiency using the RTP protocol and the RTCP protocol. <P>SOLUTION: The method transmits data packets, in particular, data transmitted in real time or almost in real time through an Internet protocol (IP) network, transmits media data packets by using the real time transport protocol (RTP) and control data packets by using the RTP control protocol (RTCP). A ratio of the available transmission bandwidth is assigned to each protocol. The method includes: a step of measuring the characteristic of a related network link; a step of calculating an optimized RTCP bandwidth on the basis of the measured value, and a step of transmitting the control data packets by using the optimized RTCP bandwidth. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p>
