PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more easily manufactured window shade capable of efficiently shielding direct sunlight and guiding natural light, and also, capable of preventing a peep from the outside, and to provide a light shielding unit suitable for the constitution of the window shade. SOLUTION: The light shielding unit 1 is constituted of transparent material, and an inclined slit 4 for totally reflecting and shielding the light advancing beyond a set angle is formed inside the unit 1. The inclined slit 4 is a belt-like gap formed of a couple of inclined blocks 2 and a slope 3. The window shade is constituted by arranging the light shielding units in a vertical direction or a light advancing direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
