摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce flicker while constituting a sampling circuit of a first conductive type TFT in an electro-optical device like a liquid crystal device which performs reciprocal revere drive. SOLUTION: The electro-optical device is constituted by holding an electro-optical material (50) between a pair of first and second substrates. A pixel electrode (9a), a data line (6a) connected to the pixel electrode through a TFT (30), and a sampling circuit (301) including a first conductive type TFT (302) for sampling which samples a picture signal which has the polarity inverted to a center voltage of the amplitude of the picture signal, and supplies the picture signal to the data line are provided on the first substrate (10). Furthermore, gate voltage varying means (401 and 502) are provided which vary the gate voltage of the first conductive type TFT in accordance with polarity inversion of the picture signal.
