PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter system that is small in size, satisfactory in operation efficiency, less in exposure variation, and suitable for high-speed operation. SOLUTION: The shutter system has: a substrate having a shutter aperture; an open blade group and a close blade group, each comprising a plurality of blades, which are formed so as to open and close the shutter aperture; and an open blade group drive member and a close blade group drive member, which are supported and operated by the substrate at their proximal ends. When the open blade group or the close blade group closes the shutter aperture, an amount that the adjacent blades of the open blade group overlap differs from an amount of the corresponding adjacent blades of the close blade group overlap.
